Orpheus Media Sàrl.

Swiss manufacturer of high end separates, power products and cables. Although a full line manufacturer they are best known for their digital products such as DAC's and CD players, the company was in fact one of the pioneers of advanced DSP technologies such as upsampling in the late 90's and is one of the few companies that offers Firewire as an option on their products, but as a computer audio transport it is much less troublesome than USB.

Company was originally founded in the summer of 1998 by Florian Cossy and Thierry Heeb as Anagram Sàrl, the name was soon thereafter changed to Les disques H & H Sàrl but when the company started delivering its first products they changed the name again to Orpheus Laboratories Sàrl and often still advertised as such especially in the Asian market. In 2000 a new company called Anagram Technologies was founded to sell the digital processing units they had developed to other hi-fi companies and in 2005 Cossy and Heeb sold half of their holdings in Orpheus to a consortium of investors and concentrated on the running of Anagram, in 2010 the duo sold the rest of their holdings. Ortofon
Danish manufacturer of pickups, tonearms, stylii and associated phonograph products, ranging from the lowest priced pickups on the market to absurdly priced high end cartridges. Seems to be able to make high quality pickups at a fraction of the price that others do, also there has been a marked improvement in their designs over the last 10 year while other pickup manufacturers have stood more or less still and just sell you their 20 year old designs in new boxes (this is especially true in the low end and Disco/DJ carts, where Ortofons simply rules the roost). Formerly named Fonofilm Industri A/S.
