Their well designed website is worth a visit if you have any interest in such instrument even if only for the unusual amount of information given, including details of where the luthier sources his parts and services, usually not something that they disclose. In addition to guitars he has a funky arch-top ukulele available in both electric and acoustic versions.

Stuart Spector Designs Ltd.
USA based company best known for their electric basses but they also make guitars, strings and sell some hardware and accessories as well, traditiaonally their products are sold as Spector Bass but the company prefers just plain Spector these days. In the early days of the company they did not have the rights to the Spector name and used the SSD brand until ca 1998. Although founded in 1990 the comapny did not start manufacturing itself until 1996 or so but the SSD instruments were made by Woodstock Music Products between 1991 and 1995.
